The 5th German-Rainbow-Open (3-4-October-2009) have been successful again in all respects. Participants, femal and male from England, Ireland, Denmark, USA, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Austria, Switzerland and Germany of course, have been lucky this year to enjoy the tournamnet both days with great golf, great fun and a lifely evening event on Saturday night in Schloss Basthorst.

After the cocktail (sponsored by www.gaywine.de) more than 120 participants enjoyed a marvellous dinner buffet, a funny tombola followed by a frisky discotheque in the hall of the Schloss. This year we made two donations of 1000,- EUR each: to the village i.s. (Berlin) and to a specific prevention project of the aidshilfe Hamburg. The money could be donated because of the help of our sponsors. Fun highlight of the tombola was surely our this-years-special:

After so much „stress“ we all got another meal: our this year sponsor www.gayparship.de invited all participants to this gorgeous birthday cake (see pic left). What a great idea.

On Sunday, the finalists on the 18th green presented a thriller-like finish to all the others who were watching. Great golf in the early evening of the second day of the tournament rewarded the audience for being patient. Just the ceremony could have been a bit more dignifying the efforts and the success of all winners: It was a little bit sad, that most of the participants had left before the ceremony could be held... We hope this will be different in 2010.

If everything goes well, the 6th German-Rainbow-Open will be sort of a SOFT-OPENIG of the new 18 holes course „WINSTONlinks“ which earns its name and wich will be a challenge even for players below HCP 24. Let‘s wait and see... we are all looking forward to this in fall 2010.

The 4th German-Rainbow-Open (4–5-October-2008) punched already everything in early summer. Three month before the event the demand was so huge that we had to open up a waiting list for the WINSTONcourse. Finally we could acclaim 170 participants from entire Europe.

Some improvements turned out out to be the right decision: we played on two courses: 40 players (hcp 37 and higher) played the KRANICHcourse twice 9 holes, 112 players (hcp 36 and lower) played the WINSTONcourse, 18 holes, shotgun at 10 am. Although we have been quite sceptical, the speed of the game felt more than fluent, even as we playes 5:45 hours... All players enjoyed it, nobody complained about slow play as the years before: WELL DONE.

The evening event this year had to deal with 170 hungry participants – too many to be handled in the Clubhouse at WINSTONgolf – so decided the managment. Therefore we partied in the Schloss Basthorst. WELL DONE again: the aperitif, which was an invitation of our this years sponsor "GAYWINE" (Reinhard Danner) was a perfect start. The dining rooms were tastefully decorated, we had very good (and lots of) food, and a dancing party as well in the hall of the Schloss, after dinner. So everyone's needs have been served, we spent a wonderfull evening. In addition to having fun, we also thought of others and handed over a donation to "village e.V.", Berlin. They run a elder gay peoples residential project and are happy about each and every EURO.

New this year as well: the PINK JACKET, which are sponsored by WINSTONgolf for the GROS WINNERS, as a winking hommage to the masters in Augusta. The medal ceremony was the highlight of the day, which got soaked to the skin... Well, the weather is not on our list of responsibilities – hope to see you and you and... again for the 5th German-Rainbow-Open in 2009!

The 3rd German-Rainbow-Open (Sept.29th - 30 th 2007) were an enormous success.

140 participants from Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, England, France, Ireland, Austria, the USA and of course Germany were the highest number of participants we have ever had for our tournament so far: 2 days of golf, 18 holes each, a challenging tournament on one of Germany`s most attractive golf championship-courses... without question the highlight of the gay golf world of Europe.

A great number of former participants as well as new faces attended the game. The number of participants increases every year by about 25 %, because our network is growing permanently and our gay golf community is getting more and more popular.

The location WINSTONgolf near Schwerin, with its warmhearted management and all people involved with the tournament like the rangers, greenkeepers... creates a homy feeling for all of us, every time, every year.......

We want to thank everyone who helped to make the event what it was: outstanding, fair, communicative, ..., unforgettable. We are grateful to all participants of 2007 as well as to our sponsors who helped us to make the tournament even more attractive with a number of prizes. We would really love to welcome you again next year.
