GERMAN-RAINBOW-OPEN. The yearly International German GLBT Golf Championship (2-3-October-2010)

http://www.german-rainbow-golfers.de/Start_en.html

Sorry,

please be patient until spring 2010 when the details

for the tournament of this year will be communicated on this website

Thanks for your understanding.

........................................................................

Europe’s largest GLBT- golf tournament will be played over two rounds of 18 holes, (strokeplay Stableford) according to the rules of golf as approved by the Royal Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. There will be separate categories for women and men split up into four different net classes and one over all gross class; award medals for the first, second and third place in each category and class. The tournament is open to all golf handicaps 54 and lower. Since the number of participating golfers is limited, an early registration is highly recommended.

Handicap split :

Based on our experiences of the last four years, the 5th German-Rainbow-Open will be played on two separate golf courses according to the individual golf handicap. This procedure will lead to better results for players of all playing levels: on the 9-holes/beginners course, the players with a high handicap will have more fun on the course. At the same time, on the WINSTONcourse, the level gap will not be too extreme, so the players with a lower handicap will be able to find their rhythm more easily... Sounds like the best of both worlds...

This means in numbers:

players with a handicap of 54 - 37 (Class D) will play on the 9-holes/beginners course, Saturday 18 (2x9) holes, Sunday 18 (2x9) holes. Due to expansive construction work in the golf resort, the new 9-holes beginners course won’t be rated yet and won’t be handicap qualifying on the date of our tournament.

Players with a handicap of 36 and lower (Class A, B, C,) will play on the WINSTONcourse, 18 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.

There will be special ratings for “nearest-to-the-pin” as well as for “longest-drive” on Sunday, on both courses.

IMPORTANT

For participants whose golf handicap will improve between the date of registration and the tournament itself to hcp 36 or lower, see the following procedure:

the player will move to the tournament on the WINSTONcourse. But only, if

- there are free starting positions at the tounament at the WINSTONcourse and

- the new handicap information has been transfered until 31.07.2009.

If the handicap changes later, it cannot be considered to move to the WINSTONcourse, but the participant will enter the tournament with his current handicap on the 9-holes course.
